12 Questions to ask before choosing your contractor. |
1) Is your estimator a commission based salesman, or one
of the owners of the company?
With Prizio you're dealing with the owners, not
commission based sales people. |
|
|
2) How long has your company been in business under the
same ownership?
Prizio has been owned and operated continuously by John
Prizio since 1968, and our longstanding reputation
speaks for itself. |
|
|
3) Will your project be managed by sub-contractors?
Not with Prizio! We are a family owned business with a
traditional "hands on" work ethic. We estimate,
manage, and supervise all of our work with pride.

|
4) Does your insurance policy include roofing coverage?
Roofing insurance is expensive, and some contractors
only have general contracting insurance, but NOT roofing
insurance coverage. Prizio has full coverage insurance
which includes both workman's compensation and two
million dollar liability FOR ROOFING. The work we do is
insured and covered. We recommend that you receive proof
of insurance before proceeding with any work on your
home. |
|

5) Are you properly registered with the State of
Connecticut and Westchester County?
Prizio is FULLY INSURED, and registered with the State
of Connecticut, contractors # 506372, and in Westchester
County, New York. |

|
6) Are you a certified roofing installer?
Prizio was the first roofing company in Fairfield County
to be a certified installer by
GAF,
one of the largest roofing materials supplier in the
country. |
|
|
|
7) Will you provide a list of satisfied repeat customers
and references?
Prizio will happily supply you with references suitable
to your project type and location. Just ask, and we will
be pleased to put you in touch with some of our happy
customers. |
|
|
8) What is the difference between a sales presentation,
and an estimate by owner?
Prizio is unique because we don't have any sales people!
All estimates and consultations with our homeowners are
done by us personally, John or Jonathan Prizio. This
avoids the most common complaints received by the Better
Business Bureau against other companies involving sales
misrepresentations, high pressure practices, failure to
disclose key conditions in fine print, and verbal
representations not consistent with written contracts or
terms. |
|
|
9) Are you a member of the Connecticut Better Business
Bureau?
We are proud of our excellent standing with the
Connecticut Better Business Bureau, and have been a
member in good standing for over 20 years. |
|
|
10) What should I watch out for in the contract's small
print?
Prizio has NO SMALL PRINT because what you're promised
and expect is what you get... a straight forward, easy
to read 1 page project estimate and price. Period. |
|
|
11)
Do you disclose your home address?
Yes, Prizio includes our home address in our ads, yellow
page listings, and project documents. We are proud of
our work, and are always available to our customers.
